Boyd Lighting

High-end product visuals built under real constraints, with a focus on precision and control that matches the standard of a luxury brand.

01 / The Ask

When a brand operates at the highest tier of custom design, the margin for error in its media is small. Boyd Lighting produces fixtures that live in architectural spaces, private collections, and large-scale projects where detail and presentation matter. The visual standard needed to meet that level.

02 / The mission

The production was structured around one prep day and one shoot day at Boyd Lighting’s headquarters in Colorado Springs. With a three-person team handling photography, video, and on-set support, planning carried significant weight. Pre-production focused on defining tone, contrast, lens choices, lighting direction, and movement philosophy ahead of time. Instead of an overly rigid storyboard, we built a working visual plan so execution on shoot day could remain controlled and efficient.

03 / The execution

For the finished products, we built a single controlled backdrop and lighting foundation that anchored the visual look, then refined it per fixture with subtle shifts in shaping, contrast, and composition to match each material and form. Manufacturing coverage required a different approach—each stage of production lived in its own area of the facility, with different machinery and spatial constraints, so lighting and camera setups were rebuilt and adjusted in each location while maintaining a cohesive visual standard across the final films.
